About
Dr. Christou has achieved the rare distinction of becoming a doubly qualified dentist and medical doctor. This has allowed her to become an advanced, ‘Save Face Excellence’ accredited medical aesthetic doctor with a special interest in facial musculature, gained through her years of experience in both fields.
Qualifications
Dr. Christou studied in oral and maxillofacial surgery at University College London Hospital, Guys’, Kings’ and St. Thomas’ School of Medicine and Dentistry, and Queen Mary, University of London, gaining degrees with license to practice in both medicine and dentistry. She added to her expertise at Harvard Dental School in Boston, MA and The New York University College of Dentistry.
It is her unique knowledge of the structure of the face, combined with her training in aesthetics, which has allowed Dr. Christou to create a signature ‘natural look’ preferred by her high flying clients, who need to impress and counter the stresses of working in a busy city environment in order to rise and remain at the top of their sectors.
As a result of her dual qualifications, Dr. Christou is a leading London clinician for both the Cerezen device, a new treatment for temporomandibular joint disorders and the associated symptoms of facial pain, tooth grinding and headaches, as well as Silhouette Soft, which allows a discrete and immediate non-surgical skin lift with results which get better over time.
Expertise
Because of her medical training Dr. Christou can also tackle complex facial revisions minimally invasively including non-surgical rhinoplasty (nose job), tear trough procedures, and treatments to rectify Bell’s Palsy.
Dr. Christou is keen to inspire others with her enthusiasm for facial aesthetics and non-surgical procedures. She offers a high level of personalised treatment and her excellent and discrete results speak volumes for her level of expertise, making her sought after throughout the City of London, and beyond.
The aesthetic industry has come under huge pressure to provide protection for patients from unqualified practitioners. Save Face is the first organisation in the UK to provide a register of accredited practitioners – all of which have been visited and assessed for professionalism, qualifications and safety to give patients peace of mind when booking treatments.
Speaking about the importance of being awarded this accreditation by Save Face, Dr. Christou says;
“I am pleased to be recognised as being at the forefront in the industry on patient safety, training expertise and providing a high standard of service. Being accredited by Save Face gives my patients the confidence that my peers see me as professional, qualified, safe and caring.
There is still a long way to go in educating the public about non-surgical aesthetic treatments, both in terms of what to look for and what to avoid, and hopefully with the Save Face accreditation process we will get there sooner rather than later.”
