FAQs

What does anti-wrinkle therapy involve?

After a thorough facial and anti-ageing assessment, a series of micro-injections are used to target the muscles which cause your wrinkles. The procedure will only take 5 minutes.

Are anti-wrinkle injections safe?

OnaBotulinum Toxin A has been compared to penicillin due to its versatility in treating many different problems and because it is an organic product derived from a common bacterium. It has been used in many different applications throughout the last 5 decades of medical care. The risks are extremely low if administered properly by a qualified doctor, since Botox does not spread to other areas of your body.

Contraindications
You will not be able to have Botox if you are pregnant or breast feeding.

Side effects
The common side effects of Botox are short-lived including redness of the injection site or bruising. Rarely, a temporary headache is experienced and a droopy brow may occur. The latter can be relieved with prescription eye drops.

After care
You should avoid alcohol, exercise, sunbeds, saunas and facials for 24 hours after treatment. Moving the facial muscles immediately after the procedure helps it to take effect.

What areas can benefit from an anti-wrinkle injection?

Commonly treated areas include:
Frown Line
Frown lines are the vertical lines between the eyebrows. They are often the result of a learnt behaviour, or from working with computer screens or due to an uncorrected vision prescription. It is the most popular area of treatment.

Forehead Wrinkles
Exacerbated by sun damage, wrinkles on the forehead can lead to permanent horizontal lines across the forehead. Relaxation of the muscles with anti-wrinkle injections gives a youthful and rejuvenated appearance to the face.

Crow's Feet
Often referred to as "smile lines", these lines appear around the outside of the eyes when smiling. Small injections in this area can soften the lines which reduces the signs of ageing.

Smoker's Lines
Can appear in non-smokers but are more prominent in smokers. These lines sit above the upper lip.

Marionette Lines
With precise placement of anti-wrinkle injections, the natural resting position of the lips can be adjusted. A down-turned corner of the mouth can make a face look sad, even when not. When treating the marionette lines, the corners of the mouth are gently elevated, creating a more natural happy face.

Bunny Lines
Lines on the side of the nose can contribute to the frown area. In some people, treating bunny lines in combination with the frown area gives a more desirable result.
